Dirty pretty
It's been raining off and on ALL WEEK. Enough with the rain already! The mosquitoes are going to be fat and vicious this summer, that's for sure.
Spotted this on a neighbor's steps yesterday--some of those free shitty ads from Rite Aid or JCPenny or similar that they litter the stoops with at least twice a week. The rain filled up the plastic bag, mixed with the ink & created this oddly pretty beer-colored liquid.
The unsolicited circulars, the incessant rain, soggy trash on stoops--all bummers. But I always love seeing things I haven't seen before. The sun illuminating this tainted sack of rainwater was actually a bright spot in my humid, errand-running afternoon.
Unfortunately the rainwater also saturated the field where we were supposed to have a softball game last night--our fourth rainout out of 8 scheduled games! I guess the silver lining there is not having a hangover this morning.
More rain on the way for this evening. I guess we have that saying for a reason: it pours, it pours, it pours...
