Beautiful Vancant Lot
On my way home from the grocery store today I noticed this beautiful little lot between two apartment buildings!
The delicate, multicolored wildflowers are amazing, and I love the piles of bricks and stones someone stacked up. It looks like a miniature ancient civilization is thriving in there.
It was hard to get the perfect picture from behind the chain link fence, so I took three. If I hadn't had frozen and refrigerated foods with me I could've happily stayed and enjoyed the sunshine and the view for a quarter hour or so.
I love finding things like this because it reminds me that there really is beauty all around you, as long as you're willing to see it. It's been a rather stressful summer and I've been daydreaming of vacations to the Carribean, Asia, France--anywhere that feels like an escape. Little treasures like this flourishing field in the middle of a residential block remind me that relaxation is a state of mind, not a destination.
And Dumpling, if you're reading this, that doesn't mean I don't want to go to Taiwan and Hong Kong this fall! Cuz I totally do! ;)
