I'm not feeling particularly sad nor wise at the moment, but I do console myself with that aphorism on occasion. It's also the title of my favorite song from The Music Man , which I recently re-watched:
Maybe it's because I just saw a lot of family at the wedding, or maybe it's because I just turned 30 so I feel all old and stuff, but I've been wanting to revisit classic musicals lately. Gotta love Netflix for satisfying random movie cravings!
I had forgotten how amazing the choreography in The Music Man is! I remembered the clever lyrics and the basics of the plot, but this time around it was the costumes and impressive group dance scenes that jumped out at me.
I think I'll put South Pacific in the queue next. It seems appropriate during this humid heat wave we're having on the East Coast. Don't worry Dumpling--it doesn't mean I want to wash you out of my hair just yet! ;)

Wow, your family too! :-)
My family loved musicals and both my parents would break into the songs from the shows regularly.
Friends used to say when musicals were on, that's ridiculous! no one ever breaks into song in REAL LIFE!
I was all like - you aught to come to my house sometime! :-)
You make me want to start collecting musicals so I can hole up for a month watching them all. Thanks for posting that clip.
