I've had family (aunt and uncle) visiting since Sunday. They're staying in a hotel near Times Square, and I've been spending some time most days this week hanging out doing touristy stuff (today we went on the Circle Line), showing them how to use the subway, and catching up.
I'm beat! I'm also dying for a drink. I've been doing "Sober October" all month (I was inspired by a friend of mine who does it every year) and let me tell you, midnight on Halloween can't come fast enough!
Dumpling is dressing up as Spock, which was my idea. I got him the ears and the blue Star Fleet shirt, and he's letting me do his eyebrows and hair. Did I marry the sweetest man in the world, or what?
And of course I'm going as Uhura (for those who haven't seen the 2009 Star Trek movie, she's Spock's sweetheart). And I have a groovy red uniform/dress for myself!
I can't wait! I get to pretend I'm in Star Fleet, and I'll get drunk off of two beers, just like freshman year of college! Halloween, here I come!
